About Us
The Student Curriculum Council (SCC) is a unifying body for all student activities focused around medical education and curriculum development at Penn.
Purpose:
Advocate for student interests in the curriculum and implement ideas
Promote diversity and equity of representation in the curriculum
Foster collaboration, idea sharing, mentorship across different years
Ensure continuity of feedback and progress within courses
Provide support for ongoing student-run curricular activities
Mission Statement: The mission of the SCC is to ensure the curriculum at the Perelman School of Medicine (PSOM) meets program objectives in a learner-centered way, and to promote and facilitate collaboration amongst students, faculty, and administrators to accomplish this goal. The SCC is committed to advocating for student interests in the curriculum, ensuring student voices are conveyed when major curricular changes are discussed, supporting students in developing and implementing curricular activities, promoting diversity and equity of representation in the curriculum, ensuring the continuity of feedback and progress within courses, as well as fostering longitudinal collaboration, idea sharing, and mentorship between all students with an interest in medical education and curriculum innovation at PSOM.
